Thity years after the sudden eruption of what came to known as ‘Postmodernism’, this movement is attracting a fresh round of critical interest. Kate Jordan’s reflective talk will serve as an introduction to a major exhibition on Postmodernism which will take place later in 2018 at the John Soane Museum. Nicola Westbury is an architect and Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings scholar who specialises on the conservation of historic buildings. She is currently working with the Churches Conservation Trust on the restoration of a number of Downland churches, including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Warminghurst and St. Botulphs. Nic Hoar gave up law for a career in architecture and, after studying at the University of Brighton and University College London, joined the Brighton practice of RH Partnership in which he is now a partner. Nic will describe the design of three hospices with which he has been closely associated and will discuss the characteristics of a caring environment.
