The Phoenix Housing Project in Lewes

November 20 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Phoenix project is a radical new mixed-use development on a former industrial brownfield site to the north of Lewes town centre.

It is generally agreed that Britain is facing a huge housing crisis and the new Labour government has placed housing at the top of its agenda for change.

Designed for sustainability, the Phoenix will provide almost 700 homes on an eight-acre site beside the River Ouse. It is primarily of timber construction in varied housing clusters built around a series of public squares and including communal spaces and resources to create a stong sense of place and stimulate the creation of a neighbourhood. The project is led by Human Nature Places and has brought together a team of architects, planners and designers.

Jonathan Smales, the founder and CEO of Human Nature, and Joanna Yarrow, the chief impact officer will talk about the thinking and strategy behind the project.

The lecture is free and open to all.
