Royal Pavilion Garden Through Time

Antony Dale Lecture 2023

The Royal Pavilion and Museums Trust is preparing to reconfigure the gardens following John Nash's designs of 1826, which will include the controversial proposal of night closure. The lecture will present the history of the garden from the Prince Regent's time onward, its current management and the plans for the redesign.

The speakers will be Alexandra Loske, curator of the Royal Pavilion, Chloe Tapping, the RPMT Director of Conservation and Collections, and head gardener Rob Boyle.

The admission charge is £12.50 a head. After the lecture in the Music Room, complimentary drinks will be served in the Banqueting Room.

Info for ticket holders

Please arrive by 18:50 at the Octagon Hall Entrance Lobby for a 1900 start. Access is off the Pavilion Gardens from either New Road, Church Street or Pavilion Buildings. Access on the night will be limited to the Music Room, the Long Gallery and the kitchen via the Banqueting Room.

Wheelchair access is possible. Please note no parking will be available at Brighton Pavilion but parking is available at the nearby NCP car park, 12‐14 Church Street, Brighton BN1 1US and others.
