Burges was responsible for designing the second, larger, half of the church of St Michael and All Angels and was an exponent of ‘High Victorian’ architecture. This lecture about his life and work will be held in the church as a joint event with the Friends of St Michael.

Matthew Williams is an expert on William Burges. He is the Honorary Curator of Cardiff Castle (which was largely rebuilt by Burges for the Marquess of Bute, reputedly the wealthiest man in the world at that time) and is the author of The Pitkin Guide to William Burges.

There will be a £5 admisison charge for this event, payable at the door, that will include a free glass of wine or soft drink and canapes provided by the Friends of St Michael.
